2025 Estate Riesling

Ken Gargett

The grapes for this Watervale Riesling are from vines between 23 and 47 years of age. The colour here is a pale lemon. There is quite punchy aromas here, with citrus, florals, limes and a hint of mandarin all evident. There is a gentle chalky backing. This is a lovely classic Clare Watervale Riesling. The acid is soft and juicy, the wine balanced and there is a long and lingering finish. Notes of lemons and limes continue to emerge on the finish. This should provide pleasure for the next twelve to fifteen years at least. 94/100

A lovely example of Watervale riesling, sourced from five separate blocks on the Crabtree vineyard. Like much of the region, the vines sit on classic terra rossa over limestone. The nose shows flinty bath salts and lemon zest, while the palate is deeply intense and lively. Subtle lemon zest weaves through the palate, combining with crisp, fine acidity to carry into a very long, racy, crunchy finish. 94/100

2024 Estate Riesling

This green-gold wine features an enticing bouquet of bath salts, talc, kaffir lime, spices, and lemons. The palate dazzles with a citrusy acidity that offers great length and balance, leading to a clean, refreshing finish. With another fifteen years of aging potential, this wine truly stands out and is perfect for evening enjoyment.

2023 Estate Riesling

Our winemaker Pete Burford, certainly stamped his touch of class right here. The is a wine that I like to describe as having powerful elegance, the nose is pristine with pithy lemon and dashes of fresh lime. The wine looks darn near clear! It's acid structure is amazing with a beautiful intensity of flavor that lingers.
